MIAMI, FL – JES Hardware Solutions, a leading supplier of CD-ROM networking products announces that it is now offering Nakamichi’s revolutionary new 16X (maximum) speed, 5-disc CD-ROM Mini Changer for use in both its 7/14-bay CD-ROM Towers and Dedicated CD-ROM Servers.

This high performance Mini Changer is not only the world’s first 16X, 5-disc CD-ROM changer that can fit in a single half-height drive bay, but is also the first to include a direct disc loading mechanism instead of a caddy, magazine, or tray assembly. It can be installed both vertically and horizontally, and it includes motor assisted loading/eject for smooth and silent operation. The Mini Changer’s mechanism protects CD-ROM discs by contacting only a 2m/m rim at the edge of the disc, and also features completely shielded construction for maximum reliability.

The new Mini Changer is available with either a SCSI or an IDE ATAPI interface, and features compatibility with prevailing disc standards, including CD-ROM, CD-DA, CD-ROM XA, CD-I (FMV), Video CD, Photo CD (Multisession) and CD-Extra. It is also delivered with convenient utility software for the display of disc titles and audio CD reproduction.

JES Hardware Solutions’ 7/14-bay CD-ROM Towers include support for all types of network operating systems, most notably Novell, Banyan Vines, Windows NT, and Unix. To ensure long-term reliability, each tower model features a 300-Watt power supply, all steel construction and three cooling fans. All models are also delivered complete with a two-year, 24-hour replacement policy on all components, and 24-hour technical support is provided on all network solutions as well.

Dedicated CD-ROM Servers from JES are equipped with all of the software necessary for easy network integration pre-loaded. All models feature dual Pentium 133 MHz processors (one chip installed), BIOS that supports PCI to PCI bridge, 4 PCI/3 ISA expansion slots, 14 and 21 CD-ROM bays, Mylex Flashpoint dual Channel SCSI controllers that allow for the expansion of up to 56 CD-ROM drives per server, and support for all types of network operating systems. In addition, although a 10/100 Ethernet network card is standard on all Dedicated Servers, users are also provided with the option of using a Token Ring card instead.
